Withering Arts of India

http://theviewspaper.net/withering_arts/

We are a nation of such a vast expanse of culture, heritage and diversity. Its so saddening when everyday we see senior and young adults alike focusing their attention on frivolous activity with no value add whatsoever. Our country has so much to offer.. its palette is full of all sorts of arts. You name it we have it.
I came across this article on The viewspaper's website and it absolutely shook me. We as a generation today are so far from our culture that we need courses/books to study it.
Sharing this with everyone.. doing my bit to at least create 'awareness'.

Grammar is what we need to pay attention to!!

The Vine of desire..

Thoughts hover and settle down on my head like dust blown in from the windows during tough storms. Desires... they are truly like Vines and creepers.. they grow on you.. finding nooks and crannies even if you shut the doors of your heart on them. They don't care whether you pay heed at the moment.. they'll surface when you least expect them to. breaking hearts, homes, even heads. DESIRES.

Quoting few lines from the book.. "I want my daughter to be loved by Sunil and Anju. I want her for myself alone. I want to help Anju get back to her old, strong self. I want Lupe to find me a job so i can escape this apartment. the river of my life is speeding toward an abyss. What shall i do? I want an existence iridescent as nail polish. i want sleep. I want to bite into the apple of America. I want to swim to India, to the parrot-green smells of childhood. I want a mother's arms to weep in. I want my weather-vane mind to stop its manic spinning. I want Sunil."
